My first visit to Costa Rica was in February 2023.

Our stay lasted for three and a half weeks and we stayed in one area the entire trip. By “we” I mean me and my wife, Maria. We ended up on the Caribbean side, far south, close to the Panama border. This is not the most exploited part of Costa Rica, but this made us even more curious. Another fact that took us there was the fact that a friend to my wife, Maja, had settled in this part of Costa Rica with her husband Carlos and this made it easier for us to choose. Like Maja told us before the trip

“ - everything you want to see is here, why move around? Stay here and get to know the area, feel the Caribbean vibe.” She was so right. This was our first trip to Costa Rica, but it will not be the last. We loved it, and as a wildlife photographer, I could not think of a better place.
